ABOUT THE EVENT

Phoenixville Public Library will host a free online presentation, “The Two Great Disconnects”, on Tuesday, June 9 at 7:00 PM. In this event, nature and spiritual guide, mentor, and empath, Megan Riley, discusses what she views as the “Two Great Disconnects” within our society and our world today: the disconnect from self and the disconnect from Nature. She believes that the further we remove ourselves from Nature, the further we remove ourselves from the true essence of who we really are. Nature soothes and nurtures. Nature guides and teaches us about ourselves all the time, if we allow it to do so. A Nature-based activity, lecture/group discussion, and heart-centered, guided meditation practice will be incorporated into this session to assist participants in learning why and how to reconnect with self and with Nature.

Megan Riley spent 15 years in the world of education, as both an educator and school counselor. Much of this time was spent living out West in parts of Colorado, Montana and Wyoming. Not only did Megan gain experience and knowledge working with others, but she was also gifted ample exposure to a place of peace, of nurturing — a place where she could reconnect to self, a place that always allowed her to be exactly as she needed to be at any given moment. This place? Nature. She also graduated from the Won Institute of Graduate Studies (Glenside, PA) with a Certification in Applied Meditation Studies, and later became certified as a yoga instructor.

This event is free and open to the public, and will take place online via Zoom. Registration is required on the Adult Events Calendar at www.phoenixvillelibrary.org to receive an invitation to this online event, which will be e-mailed out a few days prior to the event.
