WE ARE Vigil in Phoenixville-CANCELLED

WE ARE Vigil in Phoenixville-CANCELLED

Thursday, February 18, 2021 WE ARE Vigil in Phoenixville-CANCELLED

ABOUT THE EVENT

Please join the vigil on the corner of Bridge and Main Streets in Phoenixville at Renaissance Park by the mural site.  As darkness falls earlier now, we will supply battery operated candles, or you may use your cell phone flash light as a candle.  (We appreciate your support; however, as the winter months are upon us please use your own discretion in coming out in inclement weather.)

Wearing a mask is required and social distancing must be observed.  Carry or wear signs in support of Black Lives Matter, if you are able.  (Black Lives Matter signs will be available to purchase for $15, that includes a $3 donation to Diversity In Action ~ Phoenixville.)

The intent of these monthly vigils is to sustain a peaceful public presence in solidarity with Black Lives Matter.

Please share this invitation within your circles, and with family and friends.

Parking:  In addition to the Phoenixville Borough parking lots, alternative parking is available for a donation in the First Presbyterian Church lot at 145 Main Street, or at the Phoenixville Senior Center at 153 Church Street.  Signs in each lot will explain how to make a donation.

Please also contact Rev.Doug Hagler if your group, or organization is interested in hosting a We Are Vigil.  (See details below.)

Diversity In Action ~ Phoenixville~~~~~~~~~~

Greetings on behalf of the “We Are” Vigil Planning Team. We are currently planning bi-weekly vigils in solidarity with Black Lives Matter. Once a month, on the first Thursday at 7pm, we will hold a vigil over Zoom, and on the third Thursday of the month at 7pm we are planning to hold a live vigil at the corner of Main and Bridge Streets downtown. We are looking for groups and organizations who are interested in hosting one of these vigils, or ideally both, in a given month. We will help the hosting group with publicity and planning, and the host is welcome to hold their vigil however they wish. All we ask is that the vigil be peaceful, and that it expresses support for Black Lives Matter. If you have any questions, or if your organization is interested in hosting one or both vigils in a month, please let me know.
