This Thursday, October 7, from 7p. to 7:30p., the First Presbyterian Church of Phoenixville will be hosting the monthly virtual community “We Are” Vigil in solidarity with Black Lives Matter.
It is the hope of our collaborative community planning team that these vigils will help to sustain awareness and support of the Black Lives Matter movement and efforts to bring about meaningful real change.
Greetings on behalf of the “We Are” Vigil Planning Team. We are currently planning bi-weekly vigils in solidarity with Black Lives Matter. Once a month, on the first Thursday at 7pm, we will hold a vigil over Zoom, and on the third Thursday of the month at 7pm we are planning to hold a live vigil at the corner of Main and Bridge Streets downtown. We are looking for groups and organizations who are interested in hosting one of these vigils, or ideally both, in a given month. We will help the hosting group with publicity and planning, and the host is welcome to hold their vigil however they wish. All we ask is that the vigil be peaceful, and that it expresses support for Black Lives Matter. If you have any questions, or if your organization is interested in hosting one or both vigils in a month, please let me know.
