(PHOENIXVILLE, PA – June 2021) Phoenixville Hospital announced the annual Nursing Excellence Award winners during the recent annual Nursing Week.
“The annual nursing excellence awards recognizes the great work our nurses, nursing support staff and colleagues perform every day at Phoenixville Hospital,” said Sandy Crabtree, BSN, RN, MBA; Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, Phoenixville Hospital. “It’s an honor to work with amazing people who come to work and care so passionately for the community,” said Crabtree. “Our nurses carry out the mission for Phoenixville Hospital, delivering compassionate, safe, patient-centered care.”
Eight honors recognizing excellence in clinical practice, education, quality, safety, collaboration, leadership, and compassion were awarded to individuals and teams including:

Physician/APP Collaboration Award: Amy Mastrangelo, CRNP, Hospitalist
Excellence in Nursing Quality & Patient Safety: Felicia Porter, BSN, RN, 2 South
Interdisciplinary Support: Doris Reddick, Environmental Services
Transformational Leadership/Professional Development Excellence: Jennifer Tinney, RN, CNOR, Surgery Department
Excellence in Nursing Evidence Based Practice, Research & Innovation: Rebecca Alt, RN, CHRN, Heart Failure Clinic
Sally Strzelecki Rising Star Award: Kimberly Trotter, RN, Surgery Department
Phoenixville Hospital called for Nursing Award Nominations earlier this year for the different awards. These nursing individuals exemplify a commitment to professionalism, professional development, achievement of organizational outcomes, advancement of nursing clinical and professional practice excellence, and contributions that support health system mission, vision, standards, and strategic priorities. Award winners were chosen by a committee of their peers.
