$4,500 Grant Awarded to The Clinic for Girls in Medicine Program

July 27, 2017

Phoenixville, PA July 2017:  The Clinic is proud to announce it received a $4,500 grant, made possible in part by CCRES. Through its innovative partnerships, CCRES works to ensure quality education and human service programs for children, families, and schools. The $4,500 grant, which was awarded on July 1 and runs until June 30, 2018, will be provided to support The Clinic’s Girls in Medicine program.

“We are honored to receive this grant,” says Thomas Burd, President and CEO of The Clinic. “This support from CCRES will help us ensure that the Girls in Medicine program will continue to provide high-quality educational experiences for the next generation of healthcare leaders.”

Now in its second year, Girls in Medicine is a rigorous one-year enrichment program that offers highly motivated and talented high school girls the opportunity to learn more about pre-medicine and healthcare careers. Students in the program have the opportunity to learn from top medical leaders in the area, study at Phoenixville and Paoli Hospitals, receive volunteer and leadership experience, and become a Health Ambassador in their school and community. The program additionally aims to help build the self-confidence of young women to discover their full potential in healthcare and medical fields, and provide community outreach in education and prevention.

An organization of dedicated and highly trained staff members, CCRES provides quality services to students and families, many dealing with Autism. To learn more about CCRES, visit www.ccres.org. To learn more about Girls in Medicine, visit www.theclinicpa.org.
