Uncle B’s kicks it with Root Down in Anticipated Phoenixville Spot

Every town has one or more BBQ offerings. It’s a food category that can’t be ignored in reinventing towns especially those with a beer bent.

There’s no denying that Phoenixville, PA has embraced beer and brewing and the food scene is creating a buzz throughout Chester County and beyond but the Borough’s favorite BBQ was situated in the neighboring township of East Pikeland, until now.

Uncle B’s BBQ Shack is a local brand famous for their delicious, smoked on site, BBQ creations and their commitment to the community. Partners Beth Burckley and Brian Howell (the B in Uncle B’s) are local fixtures and the move is highly anticipated by foodies in the know.

On Wednesday, November 13 Uncle B’s will open in their new location at 425 Bridge street in Phoenixville. The new spot, hardly a shack, is in a renovated space in one of Phoenixville’s original industrial structures. With the move comes a name change to better reflect the new location and revised offering.

Uncle B’s Real Deal Southern Style will offer a broader menu of southern-inspired dishes (Howell is originally from Florence, Alabama and has cooked throughout the south) and an impressive selection of award-winning beer brewed right in the Borough.

Uncle B’s new location features a partnership with Root Down Brewing Company whose brewery and tasting room is less than a mile away, on the eastern side of Phoenixville. Root Down, who was named Mid-Size Brewpub of the Year by the Great American Beer Festival in 2019, started operating a popular outdoor beer garden at the new location this summer and will operate a bar offering beers they have brewed up exclusively for B’s menu as well as PA wine and a small selection of cocktails.

Uncle B’s Real Deal Southern Style hours will be Tuesday through Thursday 11:30am to 10:00pm (kitchen closes at 9),
Friday and Saturday 11:30am to 12am (kitchen closes at 10), Sunday 11:30am to 9:00pm (kitchen closes at 8).

The competition for quality dining options in Phoenixville continues to grow and the addition of Uncle B’s Real Deal Southern Style certainly raises the bar in a borough synonymous with fine food and drink.
