A Chester County brewing company is among the fastest-growing in the United States, according to the Brewers Association.
Crowded Castle Brewing Co. in Phoenixville, Pa., is the third fastest-growing small brewery in the United States, making it the only beermaker from the Philadelphia region to make the Brewers Association’s 2017 list.

The Brewers Association did not break out specific growth details for individual breweries, although it did report median growth from 2016 to 2017 for the breweries was 216 percent.
The median size of breweries on the list went from 284 barrels in 2016 to 963 barrels in 2017, the association reported. The breweries represent 5.5 percent of craft beer’s growth by volume for 2017.
The association will release its individual brewery data in the May and June issue of The New Brewer, out in mid-May, a spokeswoman told the Philadelphia Business Journal.
