da Vinci® X Surgical System now at Phoenixville Hospital

January 7, 2021

(PHOENIXVILLE, PA) – December 15, 2020 – Phoenixville Hospital recently added the da Vinci® X Surgical System to its services. The da Vinci X Surgical System is a proven robotic-assisted surgical technology that helps enable our surgeons to perform minimally invasive surgery with an advanced set of instruments and a 3D high-definition view of the surgical area. The surgeon is 100% in control of the robotic-assisted da Vinci Surgical System, which translates his/her hand movements into smaller, more precise movements of tiny instruments inside the patient’s body.

The da Vinci X Surgical System is used for surgical procedures in the lower abdomen such as prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, hysterectomy, pelvic organ prolapse, and hernia repair.

da Vinci robotic surgery is a less invasive technique and offers several potential benefits, including a shorter hospital stay, less blood loss, fewer complications, less need for narcotic pain medicine, a faster recovery, and smaller incisions associated with minimal scarring.

“Bringing a minimally invasive surgical option for general surgery procedures to the Southeastern community benefits our patients by making surgeries safer with a faster recovery and less pain,” said Phoenixville Hospital President and CEO Steve Tullman.

ABOUT DA VINCI SURGICAL SYSTEM:

Serious complications may occur in any surgery, including da Vinci® Surgery, up to and including death. Risks include, but are not limited to, injury to tissues and organs and conversion to other surgical techniques. If your doctor needs to convert the surgery to another surgical technique, this could result in a longer operative time, additional time under anesthesia, additional or larger incisions and/or increased complications. Individual surgical results may vary. Patients who are not candidates for non-robotic minimally invasive surgery are also not candidates for da Vinci Surgery. Patients should talk to their doctor to decide if da Vinci Surgery is right for them. Patients and doctors should review all available information on non-surgical and surgical options in order to make an informed decision.
