Phoenixville— July 28, 2020 — Health Care Access is celebrating 20 years of providing health care services to the uninsured and underinsured in the Greater Phoenixville Community. Their mission is to improve the health and well-being of the community.
What started twenty years ago as a children’s dental program has expanded to incorporate dental care for all ages, vision care for all ages, a free mammogram program through the Phoenixville Hospital, prescription medication assistance and an immigration services program.
Since 1999, with the support of the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation, Health Care Access has been connecting the uninsured and underinsured with specialized health care services. They are unique because of the successful network of provider model. Health Care Access collaborates with many local vision and dental practices and two local pharmacies who have agreed to provide services at reduced fees. They provide the care, Health Care Access provides the funding.
To celebrate, they have launched their “I am one of 2020 for Health Care Access” campaign. The goal of the “One of 2020” campaign is to have 2,020 donors give $20 or more to HCA in the year 2020.
In addition to their appeal campaign, Health Care Access looks forward to hosting a thank you celebration this September to honor their long time providers, community partners, donors, volunteers and clients. According to the Executive Director Tracy Shantz, “It has been a privilege to serve the community by helping those most in need obtain critical health care services they would otherwise go without.” For more information or to be “One of 2020 for Health Care Access” visit www.hcaphoenixville.org or call 610-935-3165.
