The Brandywine Valley Association is pleased to have PECO –An Exelon Company back as a
sponsor of the Sounds Under the Stars summer music concerts. Bring your lawn chair, blanket and a
picnic dinner to the Brandywine Valley Association’s Myrick Conservation Center and listen to music
under the stars in a beautiful country setting. The summer concert series Sounds Under the Stars, begins
June 18th. All performances are held in the acoustically-designed amphitheatre at the Association’s 318-
acre Myrick Conservation Center located on Rt. 842 (1760 Unionville-Wawaset Road), three miles east
of Unionville and six miles west of West Chester.
The Thursday evening concerts include the following performances:
June 18th – Chester County Choral Society, Choral
July 2nd – Lukens Band, Concert Band
July 9th – Downingtown’s School of Rock, Rock
July 16th – Shaw Strings, String quartet
July 23rd – One Alternative, Acoustic Fusion & Jazz
July 30th – Swing Kings, Swing/Dance Band
August 6th – Rob Dickenson Band, Folk
The 6th Annual Dead Fest concert will be held on Friday, June 26th. More than 20 musicians
from many bands come together for a magical night featuring the music of the Grateful Dead. Tickets
are $10 if purchased prior to 12 noon on Wednesday, June 24th, $20 at gate, 12 & under free. Music
begins at 6:00 PM (gates open at 5 PM). Tickets can be purchased at www.brandywinewatershed.org

The Association’s Sounds Under the Stars summer music series is beginning its 18th year
of providing free entertainment to the public. Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs or
blankets, as well as picnic dinners, for the performances. Well-behaved dogs are allowed but must be on
a leash at all times. Free light refreshments will be available at intermission. All are welcome but the
Association hopes that visitors will consider becoming a member. Applications will be available at the
BVA information table. The Myrick Conservation Center is a smoke-free facility.
The Brandywine Valley Association (BVA), a non-profit conservation organization founded in
1945, is “the oldest small watershed association in the country.”It is dedicated to promoting and
protecting the natural resources of the Brandywine Valley. The Brandywine ValleyWatershed covers
approximately 325 square miles (208,000 acres) of land and water in southeastern Pennsylvania and
