| Dear CCEDC Friends, Investors and Partners,
It is with great pride that I would like to announce the promotion of Mike Grigalonis to President and COO of the Chester County Economic Development Council. As many of you know, Mike and I have worked hand-in-hand over the course of my 46 years as President and CEO, and it has been one of the highlights of my career to support his rise in leadership.
Mike’s promotion to President reflects the expansion of his management and leadership of the day-to-day operations of CCEDC. I will continue to serve as CEO, advancing the vision of the organization and representing CCEDC in local, statewide, regional and national communities.
Mike and I first met while he was earning his MBA from Villanova University, and he started his career at CCEDC as a graduate intern. We quickly hired him as a program manager, and he was promoted to COO five years later. Over the years, Mike has helped shape the trajectory of our organization, and has recently been called to serve on a state level as President of the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association (PEDA). He is currently the regional leader of Partnerships for Regional Economic Performance (PREP).
Mike’s responsibilities reached new heights during the pandemic when he spearheaded administration of a multitude of business support programs that impacted Chester County’s community and region. In addition, his leadership has helped to establish a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategic Plan that includes culturally inclusive communications, internal training, establishing a business support office in Coatesville called 190 West Business Resource Center, and developing a micro loan program that prioritizes lending for minority- and women-owned businesses. Mike has also helped oversee the launch of a CCEDC pilot program called New Business Champions, which offers thousands of dollars in free services to help small businesses develop critical entrepreneurial skills.
