JOB DESCRIPTION

                                                                         

JOB TITLE:                Bookkeeper

 

CLASSIFICATION:   Hourly – Non-Exempt

 

REPORTS TO:           Accountant

 

STATUS:                    Part Time

 

PURPOSE:

            To provide bookkeeping services and HR support to the agency including but not limited to payroll, accounts payable, receivable, audit preparation, fund reporting, general ledger and benefit documentation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES:

  1. Maintains records of all account activity and alerts Accountant and CEO to any issues in a timely manner.
  2. Proactively maintains highly organized filing system: files invoices, payroll paperwork, reimbursements, insurance information and other financial records.
  3. Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
  4. Assists with preparation of the Monthly Financial Statements (i.e. Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flow, Budget vs. Actuals, etc.) that are presented to the Board of Directors.
  5. Assists in the development and implementation of systems and procedures as needed.
  6. Serve all human resource benefit needs for staff including managing staff health benefits, 401(k) plan documents and all other benefit related documentation.
  7. Provide financial reports to Leadership Team and funders as needed.
  8. Dedicates time and effort to seek out and take advantage of obtaining new skills and knowledge in line with CVC’s Learning Culture.
  9. Adhere to CVC policies and procedures and support the goals and mission of the agency and meet funding requirements.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned by CEO or Accountant.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  1. Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks
  2. High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  3. Associates degree preferred.
  4. Additional proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Strong organizational, problem-solving skills and the ability to manage time effectively
  7. Ability to work independently.
  8. QuickBooks and Bookkeeping: 3 years

Bookkeeper
