PCHF Celebrates Lynn Pike Hartman on Her Retirement

July 20, 2020

After a lifetime of service in the nonprofits sector, including more than 15 years serving nonprofits and the community in the greater Phoenixville area, Vice President of Programs Lynn Hartman will retire as of September 1, 2020. The Phoenixville Community Health Foundation (PCHF) celebrates her accomplishments and legacy.

Lynn’s contributions to the evolution of the foundation’s grantmaking and programming are hard to contain in one article. She has created and led numerous leadership and capacity building programs, benefitting countless organizations, nonprofits professionals, and community residents.

“Years before I became CEO, I was on the faculty of the Executive Leadership Institute. Lynn’s deep caring for the development of those who came through the Institute was always clear,” said Tamela Luce, Phoenixville Community Health Foundation President and CEO. “And during this past year, I have been so appreciative of Lynn’s organizational history and knowledge of the region.”

Among the many programs Lynn has directed or been involved with over the years include the Executive Leadership Institute, the Community Health Leadership Academy, Champions of the Community, the Phoenixville Incentive for Endowment, and many, many more.

The Foundation’s grantees have often called on Lynn for grantwriting and organizational advice. Prior to the Foundation, Lynn served as the founding Executive Director for Chester County Futures, serving in that role for four years. Lynn has remained an active community member, currently serving on the Board of Trustees for the Phoenixville Hospital.

PCHF Board Chair Maria Schwab praised Lynn’s dedication. “It has been a wonderful experience working with Lynn during my time on the PCHF board. Her contributions to the nonprofit sector have made a lasting impact on awareness and leadership in philanthropy. She is a Phoenixville gem and will be greatly missed at the foundation.”

When asked about her legacy at PCHF, Lynn responded, “I always felt validated by the faith and trust of PCHF leadership in my capability to create opportunities for people and organizations to pursue their own excellence in the spirit of the mission and values of a very special place – the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation. Over the years I have felt triumph, disappointment…but mostly satisfaction that, on either end, I did my best. I can only hope that those who have participated in our programs were half as enriched as I have been.”

The Foundation wishes Lynn all the best as she transitions to the next chapter.
