2014 Jordan Award Winner RICHARD KUNSCH, PRESIDENT AND CEO, PHOENIXVILLE FEDERAL BANK & TRUST
West Chester, PA – (August 19, 2014): The Jordan Award honors a lifetime of exemplary charitable leadership that ultimately makes a real difference in improving the quality of life in Chester County. This year’s recipient Richard Kunsch, has a methodology of “I want to leave the world better than I found it”, that really explains what drawls him philanthropically.
Each year Chester County Community Foundation looks for outstanding Chester County citizens who have made a notable effort to improve the communities where they live, work and play. The Foundation honors these individuals with Legacy Awards in five categories of philanthropy: The Jordan Award, Door Opener, Youth Philanthropy, Thanks for Caring, and Corporate Social Investment.
Each Legacy Award reflects a unique aspect of the Community Foundation’s mission, which is to increase legacy philanthropy throughout Chester County.
Both through Richard’s own philanthropy and that of the company which he leads, Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust, Richard has a very widespread influence on many aspects of the greater Phoenixville community. His presence has been most visible in issues related to community theatre, affordable housing, health care, health/physical fitness/recreation, and the economic development of the community
Richard Kunsch’s community leadership is legend in the Phoenixville area community. He is often referred to as “Mr. Phoenixville”. His leadership in the establishment and development of the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation (PCHF) has a most positive and lasting effect on the community.
Richard is recognized far and wide throughout the greater Phoenixville community as THE person to whom to turn when a local project needs guidance, leadership, and funding strategy and support. For over 40 years, through his charismatic leadership, and commanding presence, he has been a vital influence in the Phoenixville community.
Richard Kunsch and other award recipients will be honored at this year Chester County Community Foundation Legacy Awards Celebration & Annual Meeting on Monday, November 3, 2014 at West Chester University’s Madeleine Wing Adler Theater.
