PHOENIXVILLE – The Phoenixville Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted its 11th annual Charity Gala on Saturday night.
The Phoenixville Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud of its commitment to the community, and its contributions to the growth of Phoenixville, including its non-profit organizations. The proceeds from the Gala will not only benefit Orion, but will also support the programs and resources the Chamber provides to the Phoenixville community.
Attendees danced the night away to the sounds of Rhythm and Blondes, bid on a variety of lovely auction items, had a delicious, plated dinner, and enjoyed a wonderful night of fun and laughter at the Phoenixville Country Club.
There were more than 150 members of the Chamber, the community, and Orion supporters who helped raise funds for this outstanding event.
Each year, non-profit organizations here in the Phoenixville community who are dedicated to serving a variety of populations are invited to apply to be the beneficiary of funds from this extremely successful event. After a thoughtful process, Orion Communities was selected as the beneficiary of the Charity Gala, chosen from a list of thirteen extremely-deserving organizations.
“It was a magical, fun evening for a great cause,” said Gala Committee Chair Megan Inmon. “The energy and spirit in the room was undeniable. We truly had a wonderful group of community members gathering to give back.”
Highlighting the great work of Orion Communities was an important part of the event, with Executive Director Kris Keller discussing the role of the organization in the Phoenixville area. Summing up Orion’s dedication to the community, Keller shared a quote from a client.
“I just stopped in to say thanks for helping me when no one else would.”
Service to the community has been part of the Chamber’s mission for more than a decade.
“Many may be unaware that the Chamber of Commerce has provided consistent support each year to the non-profit groups in the community,” Chamber President and CEO Jessica Capistrant said.
Over the past eleven years, the Chamber has provided more than $50,000 to Phoenixville-area non-profit organizations. Last year, The House was the Chamber’s beneficiary. The House supports homeless women, providing them with a pathway to independence.
“The Phoenixville Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud of its commitment to the community, and its contributions to the growth of Phoenixville, including its non-profit organizations,” said Capistrant. “The proceeds from the Gala will not only benefit Orion, but will also support the programs and resources the Chamber provides to the Phoenixville community.”
Last year, the Chamber was able to give a check for $6,500 to 2015 Beneficiary, The House. Orion, which has been assisting the underserved residents of the Phoenixville area for nearly 40 years, will receive a check from the Gala at the Chamber’s Monthly Membership Meeting on December 13th, at the University of Valley Forge.
