A recent Economic Impact Study by Tripp Umbach, a Pittsburgh-based research company, has shown that the Schuylkill River National Heritage Area generates a $589.9 million economic impact, as well as contributing to over six thousand jobs, and providing $37.7 million in tax revenue. The study, which utilized data from 2012, 2013, and 2014, and was performed on behalf of the Heritage Development Partnership, also spotlighted the Schuylkill River Trail as a key component of the NHA’s success as a revenue generator for the area.
