In response to the anticipated serious weather approaching the area; The Mayor’s Office of the Borough of Phoenixville is issuing a Snow Emergency declaration in accordance with Title 35 and the Borough Emergency Operations Plan. In accordance with these plans, the Mayor directs the Police Department and Parking Enforcement to ensure vehicles are removed from Snow Emergency Routes, up to and including towing of private vehicles.
The Mayor of Phoenixville hereby further directs the Office of Emergency Management to coordinate safety and welfare operations with the Mayor’s Office, Borough Council, Fire, EMS, Shelter Staff, Chester County DES, and the Police Department.
Borough Officials will be reviewing and assessing upcoming weather forecasts. A Snow Emergency is declared when forecasted or actual conditions warrant removal of private vehicles from roadways, including Snow Emergency Routes for the safety and good order of the Borough, its residents, businesses and visitors.
Residents are reminded that vehicles should be removed from snow emergency routes prior to the enactment of this declaration. Failure to remove your vehicles may result in ticketing, towing, or the possibility of having your vehicle ‘plowed in.’ Off-street parking is available at Borough owned parking lots. It is important to note that Parking in “Private” lots requires the owner’s permission.
Residents requiring special assistance should contact the Phoenixville Borough Police Department at 610-935-2440 to request assistance.
