Tower Health hospitals receive national recognition from U.S. News & World Report for quality care in Pennsylvania
Reading Hospital ranked in top seven in the state, Phoenixville Hospital received “high performing” designations
Sept. 9, 2026 – Reading Hospital and Phoenixville Hospital have been named as high performing hospitals in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026-2027 Best Hospitals edition.
This is the highest distinction a hospital can earn as part of U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions ratings, with fewer than half of the thousands of hospitals evaluated earning the designation in the types of care evaluated by the organization.
This year, Reading Hospital was named one of the top seven Best Regional Hospitals in Pennsylvania and earned national recognition for orthopedics. The hospital also earned a “high performing” status in specialties and procedures, including diabetes and endocrinology, heart bypass surgery, lung cancer surgery, gynecological cancer surgery, leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, heart and kidney failure, COPD, pneumonia, heart arrhythmia, and stroke.

U.S. News’ annual Procedures & Conditions ratings are designed to assist patients and their health care providers in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.

To determine the Best Hospitals, U.S. News analyzed each hospital’s performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and patient experience.
