Summer is off to a great start, and events are really getting hot! Get ready for 2016’s third First Friday on July 1, BlobFest July 8-10, and a variety of inspiring events showcasing the arts that make Phoenixville a great place to live and work.

Young Audiences at The Colonial Theatre, Tuesday July 12, 19, and 26, 10:30am, 227 Bridge Street. With a variety of performances, this is a great way to introduce young audiences to live theatre! Barnstone Art For Kids and Power of Art is looking for volunteer artists, art administrators, parents, and teachers to mentor students. Coffee Talk presentation and discussion, 12 to 4 pm, with reception and casual conversation, 2 to 4 pm, Phoenix Village Art Center, 207 Bridge Street. Meet photographers Paul Gurcules and Denise Romano Bright and explore the exhibit  “Chasing the Light” (exhibit runs July 1 to August 14).

First Friday, July 1, 6 to 10 pm, various locations, downtown Phoenixville.  Always a great time, First Friday brings the arts to you! A street fair on Main Street, The Left Edge will be on the main stage at Bridge and Main, and more music around downtown. Check out the music at Brown’s Cow Ice Cream, in front of Great American Pub, in Children’s Plaza, or at the many restaurants and stores on Bridge Street. Farmer’s Market Stage, Staurdays, 10 am.  Nothing says summer like the Farmer’s Market, and they have a great line up for the stage every Saturday in July. Look for favorites Raven Hill on July 9, Michael Kropp on July 23, and Blanko Dave (pictured) on July 30. Spirit of the Phoenix Award

Steel City closed temporarily, and came back to life with a new owner, a revised (and delicious!) new menu, and of course, great musical shows. Shows are booked for most Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays in July, including Radney Foster on July 9 and Phish Vs. The Dead with Michael Borowski on July 30.
