The Art Gallery at Franklin Commons, a relatively new gallery to Phoenixville, will kick off the New Year with “Romance & Magic.” The Opening Reception for this brand new art exhibition will be Saturday, January 17 from 1-4 pm, and is FREE and open to the public. Come see this fantastic new show, which will only be on display through February 27! Artists and writers, alike, are invited to submit works to the exhibition. One of the premier pieces to be displayed is a 30 ft. watercolor by artist, Zan Lombardo, suspended from the 19′ ceiling of this unique gallery space.
New opportunities are available at Franklin Commons:
- Artists can rent wall space for their art.
- Openings are available for the position of Gallery Intern.
- Professional artists are invited to teach workshops.

ART OF THE STATE
For the month of January, the Phoenix Village Art Center is holding a three-person show themed, “Art of the State.” You can catch their Opening Receptions of local artists every First Friday of the month from 6-9 pm. Join the next Coffee Talk on Saturday, January 18 from 12-2pm- sign up on their website or on Meetup.com. Sunday, February 1 is their 1-5pm bluegrass music jam that should be a great time to celebrate music and art!
The first week of winter session classes begins on Monday, January 12. The classes are open to adults and children, anyone interested in learning art, trying a new type of art medium, or revisiting their love of art.

ARTS AND COFFEE – THE UNBEATABLE COMBO
Looking for a venue that ties together art, music… and what powers all to create: coffee? Steel City provides a public space for local and regional artists to present their work. There are opportunities for visual artists to show their work as well as Open Mic nights where musicians can come play music for an audience. Currently, artwork is on display by various emerging artists, some of whom are high school seniors from Perkiomen Valley. All of these talented artists are in the high school advanced placement program in art. … And don’t miss Open Mic night every Thursday!
POWER OF ART
If you don’t know the Barnstone Art for Kids organization, they are a wonderful group of people who use the Power of Art to help children with a shaken sense of security to heal, cope and grow. Barnstone Art for Kids Power of Art Program features a full year curriculum to qualified organizations in order to assist children in exploring the creative tools that serve to encourage confidence and healthy self-expression. THE ABC’s – Art, beverages, and cats!
The Art Deska Gallery and Cat Adoption Center on Main Street in Phoenixville is a great place to see beautiful art exhibits while enjoying food and beverages, visiting adorable cats, and learning more about their new animal initiatives within the community. Every first Friday of every month they take part in Phoenixville’s First Friday celebrations. Their January exhibit features artist, David Gerbstadt, who makes fun & heartfelt artworks, cards & books that celebrate life. Opening on February 6th is their “Mi Amor” Valentine’s Day Themed Exhibit of traveling Studio B Artists. What a fitting theme for the holiday!
