It’s not just the temperature; the arts are hot, exciting, and fantastic this month! With so much to see, listen to, watch, enjoy, and participate in, it will be hard to find time for everything!

In this exciting exhibit, bringing fine art to the community and the outdoors, The Philadelphia Museum of Art is sharing eleven framed reproductions of its collection with Phoenixville.

The Museum’s Timothy Rub said “The Museum’s treasures are the community’s treasures, and they are for the enjoyment of everyone, ” and Katy Friedland shared, “Inside Out is all about spontaneous interactions with works of art.”

Coffee Talks, art discussion group, Sunday, August 21, 12 pm, Phoenix Village Art Center, 207 Bridge Street. Sculptor and curator Katie Naber will conduct a walking tour of the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s “Inside Out” program in Phoenixville. A discussion of the featured art will follow at the Art Center.

Walk or bike on your own and take a look at each one! They are all displayed in frames representative of the time period in which they were created, and accompanied by a descriptive label.

Robert Libby August 5 to 31, 209 Bridge Street. Roberts’s paintings are on display inside the Upstairs Artists Studio window; you can view them from outside. Kiwanis Children’s Plaza, between 217 and 219 Bridge Street. Saturdays in August, 10:30 – 11:30 am. A great, free way to entertain the kids for an hour! More than just music or just art, it’s David Perry with songs, drawings, and laughs on August 6, Cold Blood Ideas, a reptile program, on the 13th, magic with Tom McDonnell on the 20th, and, on the 27th there’s a whole children’s carnival of fun! National Night Out, Tuesday August 2, the corner of Church and Gay Streets, 6 – 8 pm. A true community event, there will be local performing bands, crafts, and face painting, and a chance to meet other community members, including police, fire, and rescue personnel.
