Dogs and cats in the Phoenixville Borough and their two-legged guardians will benefit from a new effort to directly return lost animals to their homes, as the borough’s police department is now equipped with a universal microchip scanner. PHOENIXVILLE, PA – On December 5th, seventy-five people gathered at Congregation B’Nai Jacob in Phoenixville to sort and pack donations for the homeless of Chester County. Sponsored by LGBT Equality Alliance of Chester County, over three hundred backpacks were filled with toiletries and snacks for individuals and are being delivered to The House in Phoenixville, Friends Association in West Chester, Safe Harbor in West Chester, CYWA in Coatesville, and The LGBTQ Home for Hope in Philadelphia. Phoenixville: The 2016 Phoenixville Community Health Leadership Academy graduated nine students from its 10 week program on November 18. The graduates, all with a passion for addressing the needs of the greater Phoenixville region, include: Lisa Westfall, Melinda Izzo, Jeanne Schanzenbach, Cailin Coolbaugh, Victoria O’Neill, Terry Hall, Erica Murphy, Kristen McGee (not pictured), and Erica Klinedinst.
