PHOENIXVILLE Approximately two million additional people are expected to be in the area for the Papal Visit. Closure of Route 76 at 476 (Blue Route; Conshohocken) will likely cause gridlock along 76 which could result in major traffic congestion of local highways including Routes 422 and 29. Phoenixville’s continued growth, and its new potent potables, are the subject of a new article from the Daily News’ “Joe Sixpack” (Don Russell). Speaking of the town and the Bridge Street scene specifically, Russell said “…there’s a vibrancy that is only enhanced by the presence of locally made beer.” Phoenixville’s distillery and wineries also rated a mention in the article.
