Film Producer, Who Made a Small Phoenixville Theatre World Famous, Dies at 98

Jack H. Harris, the producer who made a small Phoenixville theatre world famous in his movie The Blob, died on Tuesday at the age of 98. Harris, a Philadelphia native, spent his childhood performing in Vaudeville with the Cliff Edwards Kiddie Revue. He later collaborated with the Valley Forge religious film studio in making The Blob, and showed his eye for talent by casting the then-27-year-old Steve McQueen in the lead role. Snow Emergency update!

From the office of Borough Manager,  Mr. E. Jean Krack Phoenixville Borough will lift its Snow Emergency at 8:00 pm March 14, 2017.  Parking will be allowed on Snow Emergency Routes at that time.  Trash collection was suspended on Tuesday.  Residents in those neighborhoods will have their trash and recyclables picked up on Saturday, March 18, 2017.
